Employer profile:

The Association is a group of families who lost their loved ones under the hammer of torture, victims of enforced disappearance in the prisons of government forces in Syria. We were able to recognize our children in the photos leaked from the torture and murder camps called (Caesar Pictures), and we communicated and worked together for many months before we met together in our first founding meeting in February 2018, in Berlin, to establish the Caesar Families Association.

Through our association, we aspire to unite our voice in demanding truth, justice, and the restoration of dignity for all victims of torture and enforced disappearance in Syria.

Roles and responsibilities:

Internal coordination:

  • Follow up and coordinate joint work between the Truth and Justice Charter associations.
  • Coordinate internal meetings of the Charter group, including setting dates, sending reminders, preparing the meeting platform, assisting in the event of technical problems, writing and archiving meeting minutes, and sending them to the groups.
  • Follow up on the points agreed upon in the meetings until they are achieved, and amend them when necessary in agreement with the representatives.
  • Coordinate with the various Charter teams to follow up on the progress of their work on the various axes included in the Charter’s strategic plan.
  • Working on effective communication mechanisms between members of the associations.
  • Manage logistical tasks such as flight reservations, securing accommodation, and arranging physical meetings.
  • Share all information received by the Charter group with all group representatives or official addresses of the groups.
  • Ensure balance within the Charter at the level of decisions and engagement in work.

External coordination:

  • Follow up and coordinate meetings with external parties.
  • Work on advocacy campaigns in cooperation with the coordinators of the associations and coordinate activities and events during the year (logistical tasks, writing reports and concept notes)
  • Follow up on the various forums in which it is possible to participate and which are concerned with the Syrian file and the issue of the disappeared and detainees in Syria.
  • Follow up on communication with the Charter partners and coordinate joint campaigns with them.

Competencies and skills:

  • Experience working with human rights organizations, preferably Syrian organizations.
  • Skills in using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Zoom.
  • Writing skills in Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Possess high organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel when needed to attend meetings or events.
  • Deal sensitively with files being worked on.

Terms and regulations:

  • Priority for those with experience in human rights or international law.
  • Priority for survivors and families of victims of enforced disappearance in Syria.
  • Employee’s place of residence is preferably in Europe.
  • The applicant should have a laptop.
  • The applicant should have a rapid internet connection.
  • The applicant preferred to have a European bank account or have the ability to receive money through a European bank account.
